Feb 18th 1-2-3: Creative Journals To Stay Organized
1: Creative Journals ( 1 minute read )
As artists, it can be too easy to get ‘lost in the sauce’ so to speak.
In these times we lose track of what will keep our forward momentum moving. Spending too much time on one thing or another, and letting ourselves fatigue. Then, we might even stop working on our art altogether for a period of time.
I find that when I’m least aware of what I actually have to work on is when these moments hit me.
Try to focus on your work and stay ahead of it.
Letting things pile up is usually a result of a lack of organization. I find that keeping a notepad, or journal of sorts nearby is useful for jotting down my ideas and creating a plan on how to tackle my next load of work.
Keep this with you, and actively incorporate it into your workflow.
As artists getting ‘lost in the sauce’ is all to easy, and when the going gets tough, not having an organized list on what you ought to work on will launch you into a very stressful state.
I personally use a traveler’s notepad for keeping track of my daily journal entries, creative ideas, and weekly plans. Now I by no means want to make it seem like I’m this incredibly diligent person with this journal, however I do use it as necessary, and its proven to be an invaluable part of my workflow at this point.
Now go get a journal and keep it nearby!
